Land of Fire and Ice
A PHOTO ESSAY OF ICELANDIC GEOGRAPHY
From the cold and volcanically active mountains to the rugged glacial terrains that stretch as far as the eye can see, Iceland is a natural wonder of the world. In this small island, straddled between the Atlantic and Arctic Oceans, it's breathtaking landscapes are filled with geographic oddities waiting to be explored.
Over the course of four days with a rented 4x4 and arctic-defying winter coats, we travelled from the capital city of Reykjavik to the black sandy beaches of Vik, through the Golden Circle to Grindavik, where our journey ended in the relaxing thermal pools of the Blue Lagoon.
