Sound Aesthetic

Listening with Master & Dynamic

For this Spring, I'm collaborating with NYC label Master & Dynamic to showcase a special edition of their latest active noise-cancelling wireless headphones. In silver metal and grey leather, the flagship MW65 x Studio 35 edition is an eye-catching piece of audiophile tech that succeeds in carrying the brand's uncompromising commitment to elevated design, craftsmanship, and sound performance.

Master & Dynamic's careful approach to both aesthetic and functionality is captured first-hand with the premium materials it uses – anodised aluminium across its lightweight frame and trademark metal grilles feel solid and well-crafted. Memory foam earpads wrapped in fine lambskin are soft and supple, providing superior comfort for hours of extended use. Over the past few weeks, working from home has become the perfect companion for when I need to focus and tune the world out.

From within, powerful active noise-cancellation technology helps filter out the cacophony of surrounding distractions I have come to know all too well: the ambient hum of a loaded dishwasher, murmurs from my partner's conference call, the occasional London bus howling from an open window – it all quietly subsides into a sound vacuum with a click of a button. Eyes opened, the mind focused, productivity ensues.

When I'm not working, daily listening to the MW65 is an acoustic joy. Deep, rich bass and crisp, clear tones transmitted through its custom 40mm beryllium drivers are a symphony to the ears.

In its pursuit of noise cancellation, Master & Dynamic tastefully excels in delivering stellar sound without sacrificing audio quality. Euphony follows hand-in-hand with sublime aesthetics — simply put, the MW65s look as good as they sound, and that's a very good thing.
